In Świniary, near Płock, three men fell out of a boat sailing on the Vistula River. Two of them got ashore. The fire department searched for the third man for several hours, to no avail. The search is scheduled to resume Monday morning.
The spokesman of the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Płock, senior captain Edward Mysera informed that the accident happened on Sunday evening on the Vistula River near the town of Świniary.
– As a result of an unfortunate event, men fell out of the boat. Outsiders helped one of them. The second one got ashore with the help of firefighters, while the third man has not yet been found. The action was interrupted overnight. It will resume tomorrow morning, said senior captain Myser on Sunday night.
A spokesman for the Płock fire brigade emphasized that the divers had managed to locate the boat, but that the missing man was not found during the search. – At the moment the boat is under water. Has been secured. It will not be taken until tomorrow – he said.
State and volunteer fire brigades were sent to the rescue operation, and sonar from the State Fire Service in Legionowo was also used in the search for the missing person. “There were a total of six boats searching the river,” said the spokesman.
