Police negotiators have been on the ferry since Saturday evening. – The police intervene in connection with the emotional crisis of a young man. The action is still ongoing – Chief Commissioner Mirosława Rudzińska, press officer of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Szczecin, told tvn24.pl before 4 p.m.
“Passengers who were supposed to travel to Sweden are forced to wait for the action to end,” informs the iswinoujscie.pl portal. The problem affects several hundred passengers.
He did not leave the deck after the earlier cruise
The man is in one of the lifeboats on the upper deck of the ferry. – This man is in a place where access to him is difficult – explained Rudzińska. – We want to help him and refer him to medical services as soon as possible – she added.
The officers know the man's identity, he is a Polish citizen. He was probably one of the passengers of the ferry that arrived from Trelleborg to Świnoujście on Saturday afternoon. When the unit was already at the quay, the man with the knife did not leave the deck.
Difficulties in the functioning of the terminal
The ferry terminal in Świnoujście is operating with difficulties.
