Andrzej Duda talked on Tuesday with Volodymyr Zelensky, among other things, about the situation in Ukraine. The presidents met in Davos on the occasion of the economic summit. After the talks, Duda expressed his belief that “Ukraine should receive an invitation to join NATO.” He also assured that Polish international policy “will always be a policy of support for Ukraine.”

The leaders of Poland and Ukraine met on Tuesday in Davos on the occasion of the World Economic Forum. Andrzej Duda reported that he talked with Volodymyr Zelensky about what support Ukraine needs to defend itself against Russian aggression. – We talked about the current situation on the front and in society – he said after the talks.

“This will always be a policy of support for Ukraine”

The Polish president argued that full membership of Ukraine should be pursued FOR THIS. – It is impossible during the war, but I believe that Ukraine should receive an invitation to NATO, which would start the process of discussing this issue in individual national parliaments of the Alliance’s member states. This process could continue, it is extremely important for the morale of Ukraine’s defenders, Duda said.

He assessed that Ukraine’s presence in NATO is also important for the strength of the entire Alliance and for Poland’s security.

During the meeting, the expected visit of the Prime Minister was also discussed Donald Tusk in Ukraine. Duda told Zelenski that he had talked with Tusk several times about Polish international policy, including policy in connection with Russian aggression against Ukraine.

– I assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that this policy will be stable and that it will continue to be a policy of support for Ukraine, that he can safely start talks with Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Kiev in a few days, he said.

– I believe that this will be a good policy that we will be able to pursue together, both the prime minister, the government and the president – he added.
