Near Bielsk Podlaski, the policemen were chasing the bus driver who did not stop for inspection. During the chase, the driver of the second car tried to overtake the police car and cut its way. It led to a head-on collision. The bus driver, on the other hand, abandoned his vehicle, in which there were 12 migrants, on a dirt road and tried to escape on foot.

On Saturday, around 10 am on the national road No. 66, the Renault bus driver did not stop for police control and started to run away. – The policemen are in pursuit – informs Tomasz Krupa, spokesman for the Podlasie police.

Then the Nissan driver behind them began to overtake the policemen and cut their way. Between Szastałami and Kalnica near Bielsk Podlaski, a Nissan driver led to a head-on collision with a Honda driving in front of him.

– The Honda passenger went to the hospital – says Krupa. Nissan driver stopped.

He abandoned the bus in the field

Meanwhile, the bus driver turned into a dirt road, where he stopped, the vehicle escaped on foot. The man was stopped by policemen three kilometers away. As it turned out, in the vehicle he abandoned in the field, there were 12 people who were most likely illegally staying in Poland.

– Two women and a child from the bus were taken by medical services to the hospital. The child is in good condition – he went to the hospital so as not to disconnect him from his mother – said Krupa.

According to the police, both detained drivers are citizens of Ukraine. Police officers continue to act in connection with this incident. So far, it is not known where the migrants come from.
