An unexploded bomb from World War II was found at a construction site at Dębogórska Street. On Wednesday, sappers will carry out activities related to removing the bomb. However, it will be necessary to evacuate residents from nearby buildings.
– An aircraft bomb from World War II, which was found at the construction site at Dębogórska Street, will be removed by sappers. The action will take place on December 4 in the morning, said Dariusz Sadowski from the City Hall in Szczecin.
Evacuation of residents necessary
The evacuation will start at 9 a.m. It will include residents of the blocks of flats at Robotnicza 33, Grzymińska 32, 32A, 32B, Sośnicka, employees and customers of the Lidl store at Robotnicza 37, and officers and employees of the Szczecin nad Odrą Police Station.
Until the end of the operation, staying in open spaces in the area where the unexploded bomb was found will be prohibited. This applies to twenty streets in the north of Szczecin. Their list is available on the website Szczecin.eu.
The end of the ban on staying in open spaces will be announced by announcements broadcast from police cars and city guard.
Changes in communication
Due to the removal of unexploded ordnance, there will also be changes in the public transport schedule. According to the Road and Municipal Transport Authority in Szczecin, tram line No. 6 will run on the shortened route Filharmonia – Ludowa according to the current timetable.
Bus lines 58 and 59 will run in both directions of the street. Bogumińska – Pokoju – Strzałowska (line 59 Świętojańska) – Wiszesława – turn around at the Golęcin depot and continue along its regular route. Bus line 99 will run on the shortened route Kołłątaja – Żelazna – Zgorzelecka.
For the purpose of evacuating the inhabitants of the endangered area through the SPA Klonowica depot, a bus will be provided to the city guard at the parking lot of the Lidl store at Robotnicza Street at 9.00.
