Deputy minister: a friend of PiS baron Joachim Brudziński earned millions at the port

“You know me – I rarely use strong words, but what we find at the Szczecin-Świnoujście Ports Authority is an absolute scandal. The preliminary results of the ongoing inspection showed that a colleague of PiS baron Joachim Brudziński was earning millions at the port. Radio Zet, which was the first to report on the matter, indicated that Brudziński’s friend from his student days joined the state-owned company in 2016 and, as a proxy of the Ports Authority and a trusted MEP, he made the most important decisions in the company. He was not employed full-time, he only issued invoices to the ports, most recently for PLN 60,000. PLN per month.

“They promised investments in the maritime economy, but as usual with this team it ended with embarrassment and millions of zlotys for their colleagues,” commented Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Arkadiusz Marchewka.

The deputy head of MI announced that he would ask “the new port authorities to thoroughly check the justification for spending every zloty and consider submitting a report to the prosecutor’s office in terms of mismanagement and exposure of the company to losses.”

We asked MEP Joachim Brudziński for a comment. Until the material was published, we did not receive answers to our questions.
