On Monday evening, police officers carried out a routine inspection in Szczecin (West Pomeranian Voivodeship). One of the drivers tried to avoid a police car and hit three police officers standing nearby. Another patrol stopped the fleeing vehicle. Inside, the police found a bag with drugs, and the passenger was wanted on an arrest warrant. The police are investigating the case.
The incident took place on Monday, November 6, 2023 on the streets of Szczecin. While carrying out a routine check, the police tried to stop the driver of an Opel passenger car. The man did not stop and, avoiding a police car, drove into three policemen standing nearby. After a short chase, another patrol stopped a vehicle carrying two men, aged 38 and 41.
– Despite clear signs telling the car to stop, the driver ignored them and made a desperate escape. While avoiding a police car, he hit three of our policemen, but fortunately, nothing serious happened to them. A few streets away, the Opel was stopped by another patrol. Both the driver and passenger were detained. After checking the contents of the car, the officers found a bag with drugs, said Alicja Slecion, press officer of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Szczecin.
Additionally, today, November 7, the police searched the apartment of the Opel driver and detained a third person. More drugs were also found.
The men will be held responsible for failing to stop for traffic stops, assaulting police officers and possessing drugs.
