Szczecinek. Residents stopped a drunk driver

Residents of Szczecinek stopped a drunk driver who first drank alcohol in the park with his friend, and then got into the car and drove away. Witnesses tried to stop him from leaving the parking lot, but they failed, so they gave chase to the 51-year-old. After the arrest, a breathalyzer test showed that the man had 2.6 per mille of alcohol in his body.

The incident took place on June 20 in Szczecinek. According to witness accounts, the 51-year-old drank alcohol with his friend, then they got into the car together and wanted to drive away. People who saw the whole situation tried to stop the driver, but the man ignored them and drove on.

“The entire incident was noticed by another driver who stopped and, together with the man responding to the incident, followed the vehicle that did not stop,” we read in the police statement.

The driver managed to stop in the bus bay where he pulled up. That's when she arrived there Municipal Police and policemen.

He was banned for life

It turned out that the 51-year-old resident of Szczecinek was banned from driving for life. A breathalyzer test showed that the driver had 2.6 per mille of alcohol in his body.

The man spent the night in police custody and will answer for his actions in court. He faces up to five years in prison for driving under the influence of alcohol.
