A 54-year-old resident of the Szczuczyn commune (Podlaskie Voivodeship) lost three fingers of his left hand and was taken to the hospital unconscious. According to the information provided to the rescuers, the man cut them himself with an ax while working on the house. According to police findings, however, it was his younger friend who did it. The 33-year-old was arrested.

Police officers dealt with the case of a 54-year-old resident of the Szczuczyn commune, who was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

– The first information that was provided to the paramedics showed that the man cut off three fingers of his left hand with an ax while working at the house. A few days later, criminals from the Grajewo police station determined that the 54-year-old’s fingers were cut off in completely different circumstances, informs the younger aspirant Sylwia Gosiewska from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Grajewo.

According to uniform findings, the 54-year-old’s fingers were cut off by his 33-year-old colleague. It was supposed to happen during a libation of alcohol.

– To cover all traces, the suspect threw the ax into the river. The man was arrested at his home. He was intoxicated and was taken into police custody. The police also found an ax in the river, which the 33-year-old had disposed of. When he sobered up, he was charged with causing grievous bodily harm, Gosiewska reports.

The man was temporarily arrested by the court for three months. He is liable to imprisonment for a period of not less than three years.
