An inhabitant of one of the tenement houses in Szklarska Poręba (Lower Silesia) was overcome with fear. When she came out on the balcony, the worn wooden floor collapsed under her. The woman fell onto the balcony, one floor below. Fortunately, she was not seriously injured.
On Saturday, a fire brigade officer received a report about a 60-year-old woman trapped on a balcony. According to the information provided to the firefighters, an inhabitant of Szklarska Poręba needed help. A host rode to the site with a lift.
– There it turned out that the lady had gone out onto the balcony for a cigarette and the boards were crumbling under her. The woman flew down and fell on another balcony, one floor below – reports Marcin Wylegała, president of the Volunteer Fire Department in Szklarska Poręba.
Lift in motion
As firefighters report, the threatening event ended in fear and discomfort. Apart from general bruises, the woman left the incident unscathed. However, she was in only underwear. She waited for the solution to be resolved, wrapped in a blanket brought by her neighbors. It was a long time before she returned to her apartment. The room with the balcony she fell onto houses the bakery’s warehouse. There was no one inside.
– Fortunately, the woman had the keys to this warehouse in her apartment. We got there using a lift, went in through the window and found the keys that opened the door. The woman could leave the balcony – says Wylegała.
On the spot, paramedics examined a woman from Szklarska Poreba. It turned out that she did not require hospitalization.
