– Our duty was an immediate reaction, which is why a periodic ban on entering the forest was introduced. We asked for help from a sapper patrol and employed an external company – explains Elżbieta Mrozek from the Szklarska Poręba Forest District.

Cleaning the area lasted throughout 2024. At that time, over 40 hectares of forest were checked.
– It is actually an extension of the periodic ban on access to the forest, because this year such a ban was in force from January 2 to June 30. Due to the threat of unexploded and other dangerous objects, we had to decide to extend it. The ban includes a fragment of the forest in the Roztoka forestry near the Szklarki waterfall – explains Mrozek.

Foresters ensure that the situation is under control, and tourists can continue to enjoy the charms of the Karkonosze forests.
