Someone heard squeals from the garbage can and called the police. It turned out that these were the puppies that someone had thrown into the trash. According to the police, the tiny quadrupeds were tightly wrapped in foil and put in a plastic bag. Three out of six puppies were saved.
On Friday, the policemen received a report of squeaks coming from the inside of a garbage container in Szprotawa (Lubuskie Province). A patrol was sent to the scene immediately.
– Officers from the local police station, junior aspirant Andrzej Szykuła and aspirate Jacek Kowczyk started checking all the bags in the basket. In a paper bag, they revealed puppies that were tightly wrapped in foil and put into a plastic bag – explains Arkadiusz Szlachetko from the County Police Headquarters in Żagań.
Three puppies were saved
Some of the animals showed no signs of life. – The policemen decided to perform heart massage, which, after a few minutes, led to the restoration of vital functions. Decisive and quick action resulted in saving three out of six puppies – informs Szlachetko.
As it was established, they were four-day-old quadrupeds. They were transferred to the Polish Animal Aid Organization, from where – in eight weeks – they could be adopted, to which the police are encouraging.

Actions are underway to identify and punish the perpetrator of this crime. – All persons who have information that may help in apprehending the perpetrator are asked to contact the Police by calling 47 793 75 11 or by calling the emergency number 112 – pleads Szlachetko.
