I will give a message tomorrow. I want to say hello, introduce myself, and say that democratic standards that did not exist have returned to the Polish parliament. I will also tell you about many other things – Szymon Hołownia, the new Speaker of the Sejm, chairman of Poland 2050 and one of the leaders of the Third Way, said on Wednesday in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24. He also talked about his meeting with the president, which is scheduled for Friday.
The TVN24 guest announced on Tuesday that he intended to deliver a speech. In “Kropka nad i” he announced that he would deliver it on Thursday. – I want to say hello, introduce myself, and say that democratic standards that did not exist have returned to the Polish parliament. Each club has a guaranteed place in the presidium (of the Sejm – ed.) – said Hołownia.
He also talked about his meeting with the president, which is scheduled for Friday. He was asked whether he would suggest to the president to speed up the procedures related to the election of the government in connection with the fact that Mateusz Morawiecki there is no chance of convincing the parliamentary majority to support his government.
– First of all, I would like to introduce myself to the president in my new role. We have met before, but I believe that the new Speaker of the Sejm should meet and agree on priorities. But I will also repeat to Mr. President what I said in my first speech as Speaker of the Sejm. By performing this function, I am a clear sign that there is a majority in this house capable of electing a government, since it has elected the Speaker of the Sejm, he said.
– So I also want to show the president, through my physical presence, that there is a majority in this Sejm and that it may be worth considering accelerating these procedures – he added. The meeting with the president is scheduled to take place on Friday at 11 a.m.
Hołownia: the function of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will probably be held by another group
The leader of Poland 2050 also talked about the shape of the future coalition government.
He was asked whether Third Way was seeking to fill the position of head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He replied that “there is no such proposal on the table, there is no such idea.” – The Minister of Foreign Affairs will probably be in charge of another group. When we were thinking about different areas of responsibility, we actually talked about it for a while, but it has long been out of date – he explained.
