Szymon Hołownia announced on Wednesday evening that there will be two clubs in the Sejm: Polska 2050 Trzecia Droga and Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe Trzecia Droga. He added that they will be linked by a cooperation agreement. As he explained, the clubs will consult each other on the work in parliament and jointly agree on voting positions.
On Wednesday evening, the first informal meeting of the Polish 2050 Parliamentary Club was held with the participation of the chairman Szymon Hołowniavice-chairman of the group, Michał Kobosko, and all newly elected parliamentarians of the group.

As he explained, the political process he is talking about can be summarized in two important words: “safe change.” He emphasized that in a democracy, the change of power is a moment full of challenges. – With your votes, in just two or three weeks, you will create a new legal, personal and political order in Poland – he pointed out, asking that the representatives of Poland 2050 in parliament prepare very well for this task.
Hołownia also reminded how important the vote would be choice the Speaker of the Sejm, the Presidium of the Sejm, and other votes on the first day of the Sejm sitting, because they will show whether the democratic opposition parties have a majority in the Sejm.

Hołownia also informed what organizational decisions were made. – We will work in parliament in the formula of two clubs within the Third Way, because the Third Way project will be continued (…). However, to improve our work and so that everyone can maintain their identity, there will be two clubs – he said. He added that there would be one common Third Way club in the Senate.
– However, there will be two clubs in the Sejm: Polska 2050 Trzecia Droga and Polish People’s Party Third Way. They will be linked by a cooperation agreement, Hołownia noted. As he explained, the clubs will consult each other on the work in parliament and jointly agree on voting positions. Hołownia also emphasized that the Third Road is a good project that has proven successful and is still in use today polls 19 percent support.

“The largest force in the coalition should take responsibility for the government”
The leader of Poland 2050 informed the newly elected parliamentarians that talks regarding the future coalition are underway. He stated that Third Way believes that partners in the future coalition should share the work. – We believe it is natural that the largest force in this coalition should take responsibility for the government. And so it will happen. With a strong deputy prime minister from the Third Way, as a guarantor of the majority, (…) because today we are the guarantors and anchor of the majority – he emphasized.

As he added, “the second-best power should take responsibility for restoring the spirit of parliamentarism to the Sejm.” – However, the third force, I think, could consider taking responsibility for the Senate – he added.
The club’s president, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, said, among others: about what tasks await the new parliamentarians.
In the Sejm elections, Trzecia Droga won 65 seats; 33 – Poland 2050, 32 – PSL. In turn, in the Senate elections, Trzecia Droga won 11 seats; Poland 2050 – 5; PSL – 6.
