Midwives in Taipei experienced moments of terror when an earthquake hit Taiwan. When everything was shaky, women kept their newborns in beds close to them. The dramatic moment was recorded on video.

CCTV footage shows maternity staff from a medical facility in Taipei securing newborns in beds during the earthquake that occurred in Taiwan. At one point, another woman ran into the room where the children were to help the others.

– Of course, we were scared, very scared, but I think it's the natural instinct of the maternity staff. Children are patients, their safety is the most important thing, said Chen Ying-chin, head of the Ma Cherie Maternity Center in Taipei, on Thursday.

The strongest in 25 years

Wednesday's earthquake in Taiwan was the strongest in 25 years. 10 people died and over a thousand were injured. The tremors came as residents were getting ready for work and school. The epicenter was off the east coast, about 25 kilometers southeast of sparsely populated Hualian County.
