Police officers from Tarczyn (Piaseczyn poviat) wanted to stop a passenger car driver who overtook another vehicle on a pedestrian crossing. The man did not stop, but only waved to the officers and drove on. It turned out that he was drunk and had a driving ban.

Police officers on duty in Aleja Krakowska in Tarczyn noticed a Fiat car that overtook another vehicle on a pedestrian crossing.

– They decided to stop the driver for inspection to find out why he committed such a flagrant offence. Unfortunately, the driver did not react to the signal issued by the police officer ordering the vehicle to stop. The man sitting behind the wheel of the vehicle passed the officers and waved to them and drove on, said Magdalena Gąsowska from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Piaseczno.

He was already in the back seat

According to the police officer, the police began a pursuit.

– The driver decided to pull over, but when the officers approached the vehicle, they noticed that the driver’s seat was empty. There were three people in the back seat, who answered in unison that none of them was driving the vehicle, Gąsowska informed.

However, the police knew who was behind the wheel. He was a 35-year-old resident of Grójec.

Drunk, not allowed to drive

“The officers quickly determined what was the reason for this behavior of the man. Well, the breathalyser test showed that he had more than the legal limit of alcohol in the exhaled air and a court ban on driving in force until June 2023, explained the policewoman. And she added that the case will end in court, where the 35-year-old will have to explain himself not only for the offense he committed, but also for driving while intoxicated and not stopping for a road inspection.
