Tarnobrzeg. The driver tried to bribe the police to avoid a ticket. He was in a hurry for his dance class

It was supposed to end with a fine of PLN 1,000 and 20 penalty points. In addition, the 43-year-old was charged by the prosecutor and faces imprisonment. The man was rushing to a dance class and broke several rules. He offered the policemen who detained him in Tarnobrzeg, Podkarpacie, PLN 100 each to let him go.

Riot police noticed a Toyota passenger car in Tarnobrzeg, the driver of which crossed the double solid line, ignored the sign saying “driving on the right side of the island”, and then drove against the flow. They intervened.

According to the Podkarpackie police in a press release, a 43-year-old resident of the Grębów commune was behind the wheel of the car.

“The man explained to the police that he was in a hurry to go to a dance class, he was late and that's why he disregarded traffic regulations. He stated that classes had just started and he really didn't like being late,” we read in the Podkarpacie police statement.

The police informed the 43-year-old that he would be fined PLN 1,000. He was also supposed to receive 20 penalty points. When the man heard about it, he offered the officers 100 zlotys each.

“The reaction of the police was immediate, they informed the 43-year-old that he was being detained for a crime he had committed, i.e. giving a financial benefit in exchange for withdrawing from official duties,” the statement said.

SEE: He convinced the policemen to “let it go.” He offered PLN 200 for “coffee and lunch”.

The driver was taken to a detention center, then was interrogated and heard a charge for which he faces up to 10 years in prison. The prosecutor decided to place the 43-year-old under police supervision. The driver's case will now be heard in court.
