Several centimeters of snow, poor visibility and -4 degrees Celsius – such conditions prevailed in the Tatra Mountains on Tuesday. Such winter weather attracted tourists, but the rescuers of the Tatra National Park warn of dangerous conditions.

– Some people may be disappointed that so little can be seen, but if someone has imagination, he knows what is there next. What makes me happy is that there are so few people here. Because I think that those who are there are only tough guys who have risked to enter here in this weather. And I strongly encourage everyone to come here, because it’s worth it – said one of the tourists.

The young couple decided to go to Kasprowy Wierch for their wedding session, although, as they pointed out, the weather surprised them. – We have been coming to this place every year for eight years and the wedding session had to be in this place as well. (…) Let’s hope that the photos will be at least beautiful – said the groom.

One of the tourists said that on Monday “it was beautiful”. – There could be a little more of this warmth and sunshine. (…) You have to be careful, because not everyone is prepared – she added.

TPN: low cloud levels can cause you to go astray

Tatra National Park warns of dangerous conditions. “In the higher parts of the Tatra Mountains there is a layer of fresh snow several centimeters. There is icing, especially in the shaded areas on the north side and in the morning. An additional difficulty in the ridge parts is the low level of clouds, which limits visibility and makes orientation in the terrain difficult, which may be the reason mistakes “- we read in the TPN tourist communication.
