Maintenance work on the cable car to Kasprowy Wierch continues on Friday. This is the result of a failure of the machine’s power module. However, chairlifts in the Goryczkowy and Gąsienicowy boilers are still operating.

The train is scheduled to start again when the service work is completed and it is accepted by the Transport Technical Supervision. Polskie Koleje Linowe (PKL) informed about the shutdown of the cable car to Kasprowy.

“Due to a failure of the power module, maintenance work is underway on the PKL Kasprowy Wierch main railway. We will inform you about the availability date of the railway after the service work has been carried out and after the railway has been accepted by TDT,” the PKL authorities informed.

To Kasprowy only on legs

The cable car to Kasprowy Wierch has been disabled on Wednesday due to strong winds. Later it turned out that the wagons could not move due to a power module failure.

There are chairlifts in the Gąsienicowa and Goryczkowa valleys, and the ski slopes from the top of Kasprowy Wierch to both valleys are open. However, skiers must reach the cable car station on foot or on ski touring skis. To reach the cable car in the Goryczkowa Valley, you should start from Kuźnice along the green trail – the estimated arrival time is approx. 45 minutes. You can also reach the lift in Dolina Gąsienicowa from Kuźnice in about 1 hour. 30 minutes. several trails: the yellow trail through the Jaworzynka Valley, the blue trail through Boczań or the ski trail through Nosalowa Przełęcz.

Due to the closure of the main railway to Kasprowy Wierch, PKL offers ski passes for the chairlifts in the Gąsienicowa and Goryczkowa Valleys at a special price.
