We have no objections as to care for horses – said on Tuesday a veterinarian Piotr Szpotański, chairman of the team examining animals carrying tourists over Morskie Oko in the Tatra Mountains. According to the annual balance of horses' health, all 250 animals can continue working. The study was boycotted by the Viva! Foundation, which demands the liquidation of horse transport.
Last weekend, 250 out of 290 reported horses were tested, which take tourists on the route to Morskie Oko in the Tatra Mountains. The remaining 40 animals could not be examined because of the weather breakdown. Research of these animals is to be conducted on July 5.
– We have no objections to care for horses. All of the 250 horses tested were allowed to work on the route to Morskie Oko. In some cases, their weaker condition is associated with excessive nutrition – said the drug on Tuesday. wet. How was horses going to Morskie Oko studied?
The research took place in several stages – first in Palenica Białczańska, where the basic parameters of horses' health were checked, and then in the bristles clearing, after traveling with a car and passengers. During this year's research, the Tatra National Park (TPN) designated a special position for orthopedic tests of horses.

Boycott of the Viva Foundation!
The research was not attended by an organization of the Viva! Foundation, demanding the liquidation of horse transport on this trail. – We are retreating because our participation in this research does not make sense. The conclusions of our veterinary doctor have been ignored for years, and in addition, research is still not conducted to reliably examine animals working on the route above the forces – indicated the vice president of the Viva Foundation! Anna Zielińska.
TPN director Szymon Ziobrowski said that the absence of activists from the Viva Foundation! She was a surprise. He expressed the hope that next year her representatives would be present during the research. – If the Viva Foundation! It will not accept the invitation to participate in research next year, we are also open to cooperation with other animal foundations – added the director of TPN.
Dr. Tischner, who had been studying horses from Morskie Oko for 15 years, assured that no horse had ever fallen on the route due to overloading of the carts, and incidentally it happened that the horses stumbled and fell, but then got up. He added that three horses were fallen on the route, but this was not caused by an effort only with a sudden illness – aortic crack and stomach colic – and a frightening by a low -flying TOPR helicopter – explained the doctor.

Changes on the trail to Morskie Oko

As part of an agreement signed in February this year. Through the Ministry of the Climate Ministry, TPN, local government authorities and the Association of Carriers to Morskie Oko, buses are to be an alternative to horse transport, which from next year is to be limited to a shorter section – between Palenica Białczańska and Wodogrzmotami Mickiewicz. Horse carts are also to be modernized.
