Tax changes from the Polish Order are very emotional. – The situation is one great embarrassment – said Wojciech Warski, entrepreneur, vice president of the Employer of Poland organization in the TVN24 program “Get up and weekend”. As he said, “the striking thing about all this is that this system is not some light economic thought.” – This is a system introduced after six years of government in an ad hoc mode, in an unchecked, ill-considered mode, more for the propaganda effect towards the society – assessed Warski.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on Friday announced changes in tax solutions from the Polish Dealwhich entered into force from the beginning of 2022. The head of government announced, inter alia, that if someone at the end of this year notices that earning up to PLN 12,800 gross per month – in connection with the Polish Government – less than it was in 2021, then he will be able to count on compensation.

– The situation is one great embarrassment. Oral announcements of the prime minister (Mateusz Morawiecki – ed.) On the introduction of two tax systems on the basis that you can calculate taxes in two different ways and choose the better one may satisfy some, while from the point of view of entrepreneurs, from the point of view of people who professionally deal with finance, no only in companies, this is an unacceptable situation – commented Wojciech Warski, vice president of the Employers of Poland organization. As he stated, “a system that is so deeply discontinuous cannot be a well-thought-out and fair system.”

In his opinion, “this is an admission that the system that was introduced is an untested system.” – One in which different kinds of boundary conditions or the needs of different, specific social groups, such as veterans, people with disabilities, single parents bringing up children have not been checked – he mentioned.

Taxes 2022 – Wojciech Warski comments

In addition, Warski drew attention to how changes are introduced in the Polish Lada. – The regulation which, as I understand it, will follow the announcement of the prime minister, cannot change the laws. Besides, we do not have these regulations yet, so so far they are promises, and I remember very well, for example, the promise of Deputy Prime Minister Sasin two years ago for individuals and entrepreneurs that there will be compensation for increases in electricity. There are no compensations until today – he noted.

That is why – as the vice president of the Employers of Poland organization admitted – he does not believe this type of rescue announcement by politicians. – What is striking in all this is that this system is not some light economic thought, it is a system introduced after six years of government in an ad hoc mode, in an unproven, ill-considered mode, more for the propaganda effect towards society, because sooner or later they will be elections, so you have to win the favor of the voters, and not the effect of improving the system, which really needed to be changed – emphasized Wojciech Warski.

– The previous system was unfair because it was a regressive system, i.e. the highest earners paid taxes, which accounted for a smaller and smaller percentage of their income, while the low earners paid relatively high taxes. It had to be changed and it was known for a long time, only that had to be changed with a well thought out and tested system – he said. In Warski’s opinion, the idea of a uniform tribute proposed by the Civic Platform was rational.
