The elderly woman was unable to identify the source of the sound.

– The duty officer sent police officers from the Police Station in Gniew to help the old lady. The officers quickly located and removed the fault, which turned out to be a poorly set refrigerator – reports Ożóg.

They helped with the fuel, lit the stove. They promised they would come back

The police also noticed that the apartment was very cold. – The woman stated that she was ill and was unable to go down to the basement alone – says the policewoman.

The police appeal for sensitivity to the fate of the elderly and the sick

A woman lives alone and takes care of her disabled 44-year-old son. The policemen drew up an application for assistance to the elderly woman to a center providing social assistance.

– We appeal to everyone to pay special attention to the elderly and the sick who live alone and may need help and care. So let’s not be indifferent, let’s react. One call to the emergency number is enough. Officers will check every signal and provide appropriate assistance – emphasizes Ożóg.
