A youngster has been arrested on suspicion of homicide after the loss of life of a military veteran.
Frank Fishwick, 86, died in hospital on Saturday morning, the day after he was present in Fulwood, Preston, with a facial damage later identified as a fractured nostril, following a report of an assault.
Lancashire Police stated a 19-year-old man from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of homicide and is in custody.
Mr Fishwick’s household stated he had served with the Royal Engineers and in addition dedicated his working life to Leyland Motors.
They described him as “an adored father and grandfather who might be sadly missed by household and associates”.
“He was effectively appreciated by his associates, provided a serving to hand when wanted and his humour introduced cheer to many.
“Our thanks are prolonged to Lancashire Police who’re working tireless to convey justice to an unforgivable act of violence.”
