Thursday is another hot day in a row. In parts of the country, second-degree warnings are in effect, issued by the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management. Temperatures there will reach over 30 degrees Celsius.
Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) have issued second-degree meteorological warnings on a three-point, ascending scale.
IMWM warnings of the second degree – heat
Orange alerts apply in the following provinces:
- West Pomeranian, excluding the Sławno district;
- Pomeranianin the counties of Bytów, Chojnice, Człuchów;
- Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeshipfor the following counties: Tuchola, Sępolno, Bydgoszcz, BydgoszczNakło, Żnin, Inowrocław, Mogilno;
- lubuskie;
- Greater Poland;
- Lower Silesianexcluding the following counties: Kłodzko, Wałbrzych, WalbrzychKamienna Góra, Karkonosze, Jelenia GoraLubań and Lwówek;
- Opole;
- Silesianin the districts of Tarnowskie Góry and Gliwice, Gliwice, Zabrze, Bytom, Chorzow, Katowice, TychyPszczyna, Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Wodzisław, Racibórz, Rybnik, RybnikMikołów.
Maximum temperatures during the day will be between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius. The warnings will be valid until 7 p.m. on Thursday.
What is the second degree IMWM meteorological warning?
Second degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing large material losses and a threat to health and life. Dangerous phenomena or the effects of their occurrence significantly limit the conduct of business. Expect disruptions in everyday functioning. Great caution is recommended, the need to track messages and the development of the weather situation. Follow all recommendations issued by the rescue services in the event of a threat.
