During his career, Milik has already faced very painful and long-lasting injuries – he tore ligaments twice. He suffered a meniscus injury in the match against Ukraine. The original diagnosis was for a return to play in August. They could have been thrown into the trash a long time ago. In early October, Milik underwent another surgery.
What's next for Milik? Will he return to play for Juventus? The situation is getting more complicated
There were doubts whether the Pole would get another chance at Juventus after his recovery. The Italian media have different theories on this topic. Until now, however, the prevailing belief was that the club would be looking for a successor to the striker. The Calcio Mercato website has a different opinion. “Juventus will test Milik's form before making a transfer in January” – you could read there.
The problem is that after the October surgery, information appeared that Milik would return to the game in December at the earliest. And it turns out that even this date is optimistic for Poles.
– The most difficult period is the postoperative period, which involves unloading the operated limb and immobilizing it in an orthosis to give the tissue time to heal, i.e. achieve union. Suturing only gives us temporary stabilization of the meniscus in the right place and time. This can be compared to fracture reduction and stabilization – he explains to the portal WP Sportowe Fakty doctor Piotr Branczewski of the MedicPark Medical Center.
What does this mean for Milik's rehabilitation? – This period lasts about 6 weeks and is combined with intensive physical therapy treatments. After this time, we activate the joint to achieve full range of mobility and rebuild muscle strength – this is another 6 weeks – adds the doctor.
This means that the Pole would be ready to play only in January. And considering his previous experience with this injury, there is no certainty that the treatment will proceed without any major problems.
Will Juventus wait for Milik? Hopefully, otherwise the Polish representative may have problems finding a new club. Milik last played for the Italian club on May 25. Then he got 73 minutes in a 2-0 win against Monza.
