Terror in Somalia

It was the bloodiest attack in Somalia since October 2022, when car bomb explosions killed more than 100 people and injured 300.

According to local authorities, the attack was carried out by the Islamist terrorist organization Al-Shabaab, which is allied with Al-Qaeda. The group has been fighting for years to impose a fundamentalist version of Islam on Somalia. In the past two years, it has carried out numerous terrorist attacks in areas controlled by the central government.
