Wendy Leal’s household stated they had been unsure for weeks whether or not the twins would make it.
“We thought, ‘oh my god, what’s going to occur with the ladies,” Leal’s sister, Yessica Trevino, advised San Antonio’s KENS 5.
Trevino stated the virus took a toll on her sister, who’s unvaccinated.
“She was sick and it was exhausting for her to speak and keep,” Trevino advised the station. “Me specifically, I by no means heard somebody being pregnant with COVID and all the things was good. So sure, we had been involved that the ladies wouldn’t make it.”
Medical doctors carried out an emergency C-section and Leal gave start to twins, Matilde and Renata, final Monday. She was with them just for a second earlier than they had been separated.
“Thank God they didn’t catch something,” Trevino stated. “We’re simply ready for (the docs) to inform us after they can get out.”
