The 21-year-old did not have a driving license, he told the police that he was “going to take the exam”

The police detained a 21-year-old Volkswagen driver. The reason was exceeding the speed limit. It turned out that the man did not have a driving license. He explained to the uniformed officer that… he was going to register for the exam.

On Thursday, October 19, in Ciechanów, on Kasprzaka Street, traffic policemen checked the speed of drivers. The officers stopped a Volkswagen driven by a 21-year-old resident of Nowy Dwór County.

“The man exceeded the speed limit by 23 km/h. After checking the 21-year-old in police databases, it turned out that he did not have a license to drive motor vehicles. The man explained to the police that he was going to sign up for the exam,” said aspirant Magda in a statement. Zarembska from the District Police Headquarters in Ciechanów. The man will answer to court for the offenses committed.

The police remind that the regulations introduced at the beginning of 2022 increased criminal liability for people who, without the right to do so, decide to get behind the wheel of a car. Such behavior is sanctioned by Art. 94 of the Petty Offenses Code.

“In each such case, the police will prepare an application for punishment to the court, which will obligatorily impose a driving ban on such a person and a fine of PLN 1,500 to PLN 30,000,” the officers added.

Art. 94. § 1. Whoever drives a motor vehicle on a public road, in a residential zone or traffic zone without having the authority to do so, shall be subject to the penalty of arrest, restriction of liberty or a fine of not less than PLN 1,500. § 3. If the offense referred to in § 1 is committed, a driving ban is imposed.
