Polish politicians comment on the decision of the House of Representatives regarding the aid package for Ukraine. President Andrzej Duda said that this help would be “priceless”. “Better late than too late. And I hope that it is not too late for Ukraine,” wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on social media. “This war must and will be won,” wrote Szymon Hołownia, Marshal of the Sejm. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also reacted to the passage of the bill on the long-awaited aid for Ukraine.

The House of Representatives passed on Saturday aid package for Ukraine worth almost USD 61 billion. The vote unlocks the months-long deadlock in the House and paves the way for resuming support for Ukraine next week.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk thanked the Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson in an entry posted on the X platform.

“Speaker Mike Johnson, thank you. Better late than too late. And I hope that it is not too late for Ukraine,” wrote the head of the Polish government.

President: this help will be invaluable

President Andrzej Duda, who is in Canada, also commented on the decision of the House of Representatives.

– Ukraine needs all kinds of weapons and all kinds of support, so this help from the United States will not only be valuable, it will certainly be priceless, he said during a briefing for journalists.

He added that “any help is desperately needed by Ukraine today, given the mobilization taking place in Russia and Vladimir Putin's offensive announcements that Ukraine will continue to be attacked and Russia is preparing to continue aggression.” He recalled that less than two weeks ago in Vilnius, during the Three Seas summit, he talked with President Volodymyr Zelensky about aid for Ukraine.

“An important and extremely necessary decision”

Other Polish politicians also posted their comments on this matter on social media. The Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, on behalf of Poles, thanked Johnson for putting pressure on the package. “This war must and will be won,” he said.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz also commented on the matter. “Finally! The package of military and financial support for Ukraine adopted by the House of Representatives. This is an important and extremely necessary decision. The democratic world must be united and determined in resistance against Russian imperialism,” he emphasized.

Minister Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak commented on the Chamber's decision with the words “God bless America!”

Reaction of the NATO Secretary General

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also reacted to the passage of the bill on the long-awaited aid for Ukraine, writing on the X platform that he “welcomed the package.”

“I welcome the fact that the House of Representatives has approved a major new aid package for Ukraine. Ukraine is using NATO-supplied weapons to destroy Russia's combat capabilities. This makes us all safer in Europe and North America.”
