“Under the agreement signed today between the Airport Wrocław and Strabag Infrastruktura Południe, we are starting the largest investment in the history of our airport” – announced on Thursday, October 10 on Facebook by Wrocław Airport. A very extensive scope was announced washwhich means that from October 26, 2025 to December 4, 2025, all air operations at the Wrocław airport will be suspended.

The expansion of the airport in Wrocław means that no one will be able to buy a ticket flight from or to Wrocław for the duration of the port closure. – We are talking about it in advance so that everyone can prepare for this period – said Karol Przywara, president of Wrocław Airport, quoted by the website wroclaw.pl. – We will do everything to ensure that this period passes as smoothly as possible and has the least impact on passengers' plans – he assured.
Thanks to the expansion of the airport, new apron and a new taxiway (2.5 km long), an expressway and a de-icing area. The existing taxiways will also be reconstructed. After the investment is completed, the Wrocław airport will be able to accommodate 28 planes at the same time (compared to 16 currently). “The entire design team and contractors, thanks to detailed planning and extensive experience in implementing similar investments, will minimize the impact of the investment on the current operation of the airport,” we read.

Total Cost investments amount to almost PLN 377 million net (PLN 463.5 million gross), of which PLN 175 million comes from European funds (CEF2 program). “The dynamic increase in the number of air operations and passengers served has caused the current aviation infrastructure to begin to approach its maximum. Thanks to the implementation of this investment, we will be able to handle up to twice as many aircraft, which will result in better tourist and business connections” – Karol Przywara, president of Wrocław Airport, explained on Facebook.
