The alligator fatally attacked a woman who, together with her husband, swam kayak on Lake Kissimmee in Florida. According to the services, the couple was very close to a predator who got scared and overturned by Łódź.
The tragedy took place on Tuesday near the mouth of the Tiger Creek stream to Lake Kissimmee south of Orlando. Investigators reported that that day a marriage from the city of Davenport in Florida swam kayak at a depth of about a meter. At some point, the steam most likely influenced the aligator in the water.
“My husband tried to save her”
The surprised animal reacted violently and overturned a small boat, throwing both people into the water. A representative of the Fish and Wild Nature Conservation Commission in Florida announced that a 61-year-old woman was in the immediate threat who was deadly bitten by an alligator.
– My husband tried to save her, but unfortunately to no avail – added Major Evan Laskowski.
Code to the place of service, they found the body of a woman drifting on the water. Later, the officers caught two alligators, one of whom could be responsible for the attack.
– This tragedy is a grim reminder of powerful wild animals that share a natural environment with us – said Colonel Roger Young, executive director of the Fish Protection and Wild nature in Florida.
The Associated Press agency said that by 2024 there were 487 incidents in Florida with alligators and people. 27 of them ended in death.
