The best airports in the world – Skytrax ranking. The leader of the list is Changi port in Singapore

The award for the world’s best airport went to Changi Airport in Singapore, announced the British consulting company Skytrax, which specializes in the air services market. The “World Airport Awards” is awarded annually and uses passenger feedback.

Singapore overtook Hamada Airport in the capital Qatar, Doha. The highest places in the ranking were won by Asian ports – apart from Singapore and Qatar, Tokyo and Seoul were also honored. Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport ranked fifth, followed by Istanbul, Munich and Zurich.

Singapore was distinguished by its high position in the rankings for the best airport restaurants, the best leisure and entertainment opportunities. At the airport, you can, among other things, slide down the multi-story slides and walk around the nets stretched over the duty-free shops. Singapore Airport has been named the best airport in this ranking for the 12th time.

The best airports in 2023

Travelers from all over the world, representing over 100 nationalities, took part in the survey, on the basis of which the ranking was created. Singapore’s Changi Airport was also awarded the titles of the best airport in Asia, the best airport in the world for food service and the best airport in the world for leisure facilities.

In other categories, however, other airports were in the lead. The best airport in the world for service is Incheon International Airport in Seoul. Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport in China however, it was awarded the title of the best airport in the world in terms of improving the services provided.

Changi Airport has won more than 660 different awards since its opening in 1981. The airport plans to increase the capacity of the second terminal building by five million passengers a year. For this purpose, modernization works have begun, which are to be completed by 2024.

In 2019, a new part of the airport was opened. The building houses the world’s largest indoor waterfall. The building consists of ten floors. On four, passengers can take advantage of the so-called forest valley, where you can relax among thousands of trees and plants.
