The first reading of the civic bill, referred to by its authors as “Stop LGBT” by its authors, is to be held at the next Sejm session. It stipulates, inter alia, that the purpose of the assembly must not be “to question marriage as a union between a man and a woman” or “to promote same-sex unions or unions of more than two people”. The authors of the draft argue that their goal is to “defend the Constitution of the Republic of Poland”. Kaja Godek from the Życie i Rodzina Foundation is the deputy of the plenipotentiary of the Legislative Initiative Committee in this matter. She won a ban on abortion in Poland and now returns to the topic of Equality Marches.

– The draft contains more precise provisions on the protection of religious and national symbols, among other things, it will not be possible to use processed religious and national symbols at demonstrations that may offend religious feelings – Kasprzak said in August.

The aim of the project is, inter alia, to prohibit the organization of equality parades.

There is a provision in the bill stating that “the purpose of the assembly may not apply to”, inter alia:

“questioning marriage as a union between a man and a woman”

– “promoting the extension of marriage to persons of the same sex”

– “promoting same-sex unions or unions of more than two people”

– “to promote the privileged treatment of same-sex unions or unions of more than two people”

– “promoting legal solutions aimed at privileging same-sex relationships”

Restrictions on the Use of Religious Symbols

The project also includes a provision that during the assembly it is forbidden, inter alia, to “use religious symbols and objects related to the practice of religious rituals in a way that may offend the religious feelings of other people, including through their artistic transformation”, “participation in disguises about erotic or sexual nature “or” participation naked. “

Draft act amending the act of 24 July 2015 – Law on assemblies and certain other acts

The authors of the draft argue that their goal is to “defend the Constitution of the Republic of Poland”

The applicants write that “the tool for exerting social pressure in the hands of LGBT movements are regular demonstrations, at which, inter alia, it is proposed to introduce same-sex marriage, as well as to authorize such unions to adopt children.

“At parades of equality and other such gatherings organized by LGBT circles, Christian symbols and values are regularly mocked, and even the instrumental use of Polish national symbols. Additionally, participants of such gatherings often behave during them in a way that may violate public morality” – they convince.

They add that the protection of children requires “opposition to the promotion of the possibility of adoption by same-sex unions and the promotion of sexual intercourse among minors”.

“This bill has, therefore, one basic task, namely the defense of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, which gives priority to family-related issues. If the protection and care of the Republic of Poland over the family is to be real, then in a democratic legal public attacks on such a fundamental value for society as marriage, family and parenthood “- we read further in the justification of the project.
