Another attempt at Mielnik

The second, smaller group tried to get to Poland near Mielnik. A group of about 40 people pushed to the border there. The action started around 20.30. The events were similar to those in the vicinity of Dubicze Cerkiewne. First, migrants threw stones at Polish officers and soldiers, and Belarusians blinded them, and then a footbridge was thrown over the damaged fence, the Border Guard said.

Five couriers detained

Last day, the police detained five couriers carrying people illegally staying in our country. They are three Ukrainians, a citizen of Tajikistan and a citizen of Russia.

In the vicinity of the village of Oleksze (Bielsko poviat), the policemen stopped for inspection a car driven by a Tajik citizen, carrying four Iraqis. The man had with him forged Bulgarian documents: a driving license and an ID card in a different name. – He explained to the policemen that he had bought the documents about a year ago via the Internet, paying 50 euros for it – said Tomasz Krupa, spokesman for the Podlasie police.

In Zalesie (Siemiatycze poviat), the policemen noticed a car standing in the forest. There were five illegal immigrants inside, but the driver – presumably at the sight of the patrol – escaped. The search for him began, a tracking dog was used and a man was arrested at a nearby gas station – a Ukrainian citizen.

In Tonkielach, the car of another Ukrainian driver, which was transporting a Sri Lankan citizen, was stopped for inspection. In Berżniki, a Ukrainian was also driving the inspected car, transporting four Iraqi citizens. A Russian citizen “dropped in” in Bielsk Podlaski and was also carrying four Iraqis.

The state of emergency comes to an end

By the middle of next year, under a special act, a steel fence will be erected on the border with Belarus, topped with barbed wire and enriched with electronic devices. The 180 km long and 5.5 m high dam will be built in Podlasie. Along the border, motion sensors, day and night cameras will be installed. The Bug is a natural dam in the Lublin region.
