The British media is talking about an additional baggage fee that one of the Ryanair passengers had to pay. Austin Price was flying from Plymouth to Krakow. The carrier told him to pay an additional PLN 75 poundsbecause the suitcase did not fit the limits. The Briton claims that he has been using the same suitcase for three years and this is the first time he has had problems with it.
Ryanair made him pay extra for the suitcase. The Briton thinks this is wrong
The incident happened at the beginning October. Austin Price was waiting in the check-in line when an employee suddenly asked him to check his luggage in the baggage rack. The Briton says the suitcase was within the limits except for the wheels. The man believes that the staff were not very nice when they informed him that he had to pay an additional £75.
The outraged Briton wrote a post on social media in which, using profanity, he expressed anger at the additional fee for a suitcase, which, in his opinion, was “obviously” within the limits. However, BristoLive.co.uk pays attentionthat although the luggage fit the rack in height and width, it clearly protruded from the front – the suitcase was therefore too deep.
However, Austin Price claims that this is a matter of the new wheel stands not being compatible with the wheels. Because of this, he believes, it was impossible to put the luggage in the rack, even though it seemed to fit. “Previously, you could drive into them with a suitcase, while new [stojaki – red.] it's just a hole for a suitcase, almost like they're trying to catch people [na dodatkowÄ… opÅ‚atÄ™ – red.] “- wrote the Briton in his post.
Austin Price wants his money back. Ryanair responds
The Briton also complained about the amount of the additional fee. He was convinced that in case of problems he would pay 28 pounds, not 75. He wrote a complaint to the carrier, demanding a refund. In response, he only received information about how much he had to pay, without any explanation or response to his questions.
A Ryanair spokesman did not provide further explanations to the press either. The carrier only informed that the luggage exceeded the permitted size, which meant the need to pay an additional fee of 75 pounds in accordance with the price list.
