– It's hard to believe that this is the president of the Republic of Poland. He is using a meeting with a politician from another country to attack the Polish prime minister, who is the main advocate of Ukraine in the European arena – said Michał Szczerba, MEP of KO, in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24, commenting on Andrzej Duda's words, which were said in the context of information about the disclosure of files to Russian spy Pavel Rubtsov. Arkadiusz Mularczyk, MEP of PiS, said that “since there are no documents there that are against state security”, the prosecutor's office should disclose them.
“Rzeczpospolita” wrote on Thursday that GRU officer Pavel Rubtsov, who posed as Spanish journalist Pablo Gonzalez, left Poland as part of a prisoner exchange between the West and Russiareceived access to investigation materials, including secret ones.
The National Prosecutor's Office, referring to the case, wrote that the prosecutor is obliged to provide access to the files of the suspect against whom he has filed a motion to apply temporary arrest to the court and in such a situation there is no possibility of refusing to provide access to them. Przemysław Nowak, spokesman for the National Prosecutor's Office, assured that the files provided did not contain any state secrets that could be harmful to Poland.

President Andrzej Dudacommenting on the matter during a press conference with the president Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda in Lublin, said that it was a “bizarre situation”. – As far as I remember, in 2012 an agreement was concluded between the Military Counterintelligence Service and the FSB, as far as cooperation is concerned. It was during the government of the Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Prime Minister Donald Tusk agreed to this. Is this cooperation between the Russian services and the services of the Republic of Poland still continuing under the rule of Prime Minister Donald Tusk? Because that's what it looks like – he also said.
Szczerba: It's hard to expect anything from President Duda
The guests of “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 commented on this information and the president's statement.
KO MEP Michał Szczerba said that “it's hard to believe that this is the president of the Republic of Poland”. He added that he was “using” the meeting with a politician from another country “to attack the Polish prime minister, who is the main advocate of Ukraine in the European arena and is building support for Ukraine”.
– It's impossible to even comment on this – he said.
– In this company it is simply a scandal, but it is hard to expect anything from President Duda. I remember the summit NATO in Washington, where he gave an interview to a competing right-wing television station and did not use the opportunity to talk about security issues, about the activities at the summit, but attacked Donald Tusk's government. At that time, it was about the case of Mr. (Tomasz) Szatkowski – Szczerba said.
Mularczyk: let the prosecutor's office reveal the documents
– This is an incredible scandal. An officer of the Russian intelligence GRU, military intelligence, who is investigating Polish journalists, the Polish government, the Polish state, is caught by Polish services (…). This agent returns to Moscow as part of an exchange, is welcomed at the airport by Putin and we learn from the publication of “Rzeczpospolita” that the prosecutor's office has revealed all files on him – said the MEP PIS Arkadiusz Mularczyk.
He added that “this means that she revealed to him both the open files at the prosecutor's office and the secret files at the Internal Security Agency, where he was being transported, so he simply learned from these files how he was caught, who was investigating him, which officers took notes about him.”
The host of the program, Anita Werner, noted that the suspect had the right to look at the files, and the National Prosecutor's Office informed that these files did not contain any state secrets that could harm Poland in any way.
– In that case, please appeal to the prosecutor's office to reveal these documents, since there are no documents there that are against state security – replied Mularczyk.
“This is shameful language”
TVN24 guests also commented on the declaration of the PiS president Jaroslaw Kaczynskithat he will be present at this year's Independence March. Mularczyk was asked if this announcement means that the Independence March will be an anti-government protest, because the All-Polish Youth has already announced that the Independence March “will be grand, patriotic, national and anti-government.”
Anita Werner also quoted the slogan posted on the All-Polish Youth profile on platform X: “Poland is us, not Donald and his dogs.”
– This is a great celebration and every Pole has the right to take part in this march. We cordially invite you and we will take part in this march and many hundreds of thousands of Polish patriots will come to Warsaw for this march – replied Mularczyk.
He was asked several times by the host of the program whether he subscribed to the slogan she quoted, but he did not answer the question directly.
Werner pointed out that the All-Polish Youth on platform X also wrote: “The Independence March will go ahead, whether Tusk and his dogs like it or not.”
– This is shameful language. As we see today what is happening in Germanythese Nazi, fascist resentments, I see that similar language appears in this political environment – commented Michał Szczerba.
