This is indeed a great family drama, except that the fierce investigation of justice in a situation where the victim’s son is both a minister and a prosecutor general is the main problem, assessed Professor Ewa Łętowska in “One na one”, referring to the state’s actions in on the death of the father of Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro. – We are dealing here with a situation in which zeal, diligence, ostentatious readiness to deal with the matter is redundant – she added.

– We have in the Code of Administrative Procedure, which of course does not apply here, a provision that says what happens when there is a suspicion that a person who is supposed to adjudicate an issue administratively as a body is involved in this situation – noted the professor , however, emphasizing that “we do not have the appropriate regulations” for situations such as those of Minister Ziobro. “There’s a bit of decency and a bit of custom here,” she added.

The professor noted that “every administration, every authority has certain characteristics regarding the psychology of the minister’s subordinates”. – I do not even question that the prosecutor’s office may not get an impulse from the minister to behave in the right way, but she will do something obliging herself – said Łętowska.

– If an ordinary man comes and says: “I have suffered a great harm, therefore investigate properly”, the prosecutor’s office says that everything is fine. And here we are dealing with a situation where zeal, diligence, ostentatious readiness to deal with the matter is redundant – she pointed out.
