Prices per kilogram of chestnuts vary depending on the regions of Poland. In 2023, they were worth the most in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship – PLN 1.7 per kilogram. PLN 1.5 cost a kilogram of chestnuts in the Voivodeship. Greater Polandand PLN 1.3 in the Lodz province. It was the cheapest in the province. Masovian – exactly 1 PLN per kilogram. The chestnut purchase is just starting. We know the first prices
The chestnut purchasing season in Poland started on September 23. According to the constantly growing offers, among others in the Lubuskie province – a kilogram costs only 0.50 gr, in the Wielkopolskie province from 0.70 gr to 0.90 gr, and in the Zachodniopomorskie province 1 PLN.
Before going to the collection point, you should remember a few rules that apply there. First, only sorted chestnuts without shells are accepted. They also cannot be moldy, damaged in any way, or smell musty. It is best to store chestnuts in a dry and dark place, and deliver them to the collection point in airy sacks or bags.
Acorns are also valuable. We can earn more from them.
In addition to chestnuts, acorn collections and purchases are also becoming increasingly popular. Interestingly, the prices for a kilogram of acorns are much higher, but also vary depending on the province. Based on the available offers, in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian province, a kilogram of acorns is worth as much as PLN 5. In the Warmian-Masurian province, its price reaches an average of PLN 4.6, and in the West Pomeranian province, it is equal to PLN 4.
In contrast to the described chestnuts, prices for acorns have increased compared to last year. In 2023, they averaged 3 to 4 PLN per kilogram.
