In recent months, Jakub Piotrowski has been in the best form of his career. This has resulted in call-ups to the Polish national team, where the Ludogorets Razgrad midfielder is one of the key players in MichaƂ Probierz's squad. Piotrowski has also enjoyed success in the club, where he has won two Bulgarian championships, two Super Cups and one domestic cup. Piotrowski is also the current captain of Ludogorets, which is a great honour. After over 110 matches, Piotrowski has 20 goals and 17 assists, counting all competitions.

In recent months, Piotrowski has regularly appeared in the media in the context of changing clubs. The Pole was of interest to such teams as Galatasaray Istanbul, Villarreal, Udinese Calcio and Hoffenheim. Ludogorets reportedly valued Piotrowski at around 10 million euros. “I think the price for Jakub should be a record for Bulgarian football. It is very good that our player is attracting such interest,” said Georgi Dermendzhiev, Ludogorets' coach.

– Everything is possible, but nothing is certain. It is known that Ludogorets can imagine that I will want to move on, develop. I do not know how much more, but they will definitely expect more for me. If a transfer were to happen, I would look at the club, not the league. Do I fit into this team, what can I give them, how do they perceive my role there. This will be more important than the league itself – Piotrowski said in one of his interviews, referring to the potential transfer.

Ludogorets reacts to reports on Piotrowski. “Destabilization”

So far, Piotrowski has played in twelve matches for Ludogorets this season. However, he was recently absent from the squad in the clash with Slavia Sofia (1:0), which raised doubts in Bulgaria. Ludogorets decided to issue a statement in which he addressed potential transfer speculation. “In connection with the often appearing in the media false information regarding the term of Piotrowski's contract, we are obliged to clarify,” the club from Razgrad began.

“The speculation that his contract will expire after this season is not true. Piotrowski's contract is valid until June 2026. Any other information on this subject is groundless and is aimed at destabilizing the club on the eve of the start of the Europa League league phase,” Ludogorets added. It turns out that Piotrowski did not play in the match against Slavia because he had to return to Poland for personal reasons, for which he received permission from the board.

“Piotrowski is motivated and focused on the upcoming matches in the Bulgarian league and the Europa League, so that Ludogorets can achieve great results both domestically and internationally. The club thanks him for his professionalism and dedication in preparing for the upcoming matches, as his attitude is crucial for Ludogorets,” Ludogorets explains.

Ludogorets will play Slavia Prague, Viktoria Plzen, Anderlecht, Athletic, Lazio, AZ Alkmaar, FC Midtjylland and Olympique Lyon in the Europa League league stage. The first match will take place on Wednesday, September 25 at 9:00 p.m.
