Actress Barbara Kurdej-Satan published a post last week in which she called border guards “murderers”. The entry was deleted after some time. The District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw on Monday launched an ex officio investigation into the matter.
Information about the initiation of an investigation into entries by the actress and star of the series Barbara Kurdej-Szatan was provided to PAP by the spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, Aleksandra Skrzyniarz. The announcement explained that the prosecutor’s office “on November 8, 2021, initiated an investigation into insulting Border Guard officers performing official duties on the Polish-Belarusian border.”
The proceedings are related to the actress posting a few days ago on her profile on one of the social networks, in which she was to insult border guards.
“This is a ** a ‘Border Guard’ ????? ‘Guard’ ?????????? These are machines without a heart without a brain without ANYTHING !!! Machines blindly following orders !!!!! My heart hurts, my whole chest is shaking and I roar !!!!!!! Murderers !!!!! Do you want such a government still ????? ? ” – wrote the actress Barbara Kurdej-Satan. The entry was deleted after some time. A spokesman for the prosecutor’s office explains that “currently the evidence in the case is being secured, in particular the content available on the Internet”.
The prosecutor’s office: this is not the first such procedure
This is not the first procedure that has so far been conducted by the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office regarding the insult and slander of border guards or soldiers of the Polish Army. At the end of September, inter alia, accusations in a similar case were heard by the Warsaw lawyer Piotr B., who posted entries on his Twitter profile in which he was to call for violating the inviolability of Border Guard officers and insulting the commanders of this formation.
“The findings of the investigation show that on August 25, 2021, the suspect published a summons to commit crimes to the detriment of these officers via an online social networking site. Aleksandra Skrzyniarz. She added that the suspect did not confess during the interrogation and refused to give explanations.
A humanitarian crisis at the border
Since the spring, the number of attempts to illegally cross the Belarusian border with Lithuania, Latvia and Poland by migrants from the Middle East, Africa and other regions has increased sharply. The European Union and the Member States emphasize that this is the result of deliberate actions by Belarus. They believe that this is Minsk’s response to the sanctions.
