Charles Michel, President of the European Council, will fly to Poland on Wednesday in connection with the migration crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border. He is to meet Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
The spokesman of the head of the European Council, Barend Leyts, informed on Twitter about the change in Michel’s Wednesday program of activities and the inclusion of the meeting with Morawiecki. It was not communicated what time this meeting would take place.
The crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border
Polish-Belarusian border there is a crisis. On Monday, large groups of migrants tried to force their way to Poland. The Ministry of National Defense announced in the afternoon that a massive attempt to cross the border had been stopped. There are over a dozen thousand officers of the Border Guard, police and army on the spot.
Due to this situation, a special session of the Sejm began on Tuesday after 4 p.m.
