Paweł Kowal, a member of the Civic Coalition, commented in “Piasecki’s Conversation” on the situation surrounding the crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border. – When it comes to diplomacy, I would prefer a world where there are Polish-German, Polish-French political consultations, he said. – This is how the optimal model should look like, Poland slept through it – he added.

Hundreds of migrants started gathering at the border crossing in Kuźnica on the Belarusian side on Monday. The Ministry of Interior and Administration described that “with the support of local services, they are probably preparing to cross the border by force”. A camp was built next to the passage. There have been no serious incidents on site since then.

The events at the border were discussed by the presidents of France and Russia, Emmanuel Macron and Vladimir Putin, as well as German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Belarusian leader Alyaksandr Lukashenka. The guest of Tuesday’s “Piasecki Conversation” was MP from the Civic Coalition and former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Paweł Kowal, who was asked about these consultations.

– When it comes to diplomacy, I would prefer a world in which there are Polish-German, Polish-French political consultations, and as a result, arrangements are made and passed on to the East. This is what the optimal model should look like, Poland slept through it – he admitted.

According to Kowal, “the history at the border is part of a larger project that is very dangerous for Poland on an international scale”. – It is a question of suppression and de facto incorporation of Belarus into Russia – he explained.
