The Dutch Statistical Office has published research on the growth of compatriots. The Dutch still remain the highest nation in the world, although they are getting lower and lower.
– The Dutch are still the highest nation in the world – according to a survey by the Dutch Statistical Office (CBS). However, the average Dutchman is getting shorter and shorter.
“Women born in 2001 are on average 1.4 centimeters lower than the 1980 generation. The difference in men is 1 centimeter” – the office said in a press release. Women born in 2001 are on average 169.3 centimeters tall, and men 182.9 centimeters.
Last year, one in five Dutch people was at least 190 centimeters tall, and 7 percent were taller than 195 centimeters. Among women, almost one in ten reached at least 180 centimeters.
As the “NRC” daily recalled, people from Montenegro, Estonia and Denmark are the highest in the world right behind the Dutch. On the other hand, the inhabitants of East Timor, Laos, Guatemala and Bangladesh are the lowest.
