Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and the president of the Constitutional Tribunal, Julia Przyłębska, could have had a direct impact on the election of the acting president of one of the new chambers of the Supreme Court. This is the result of the correspondence that is to come from the mailbox of the head of the chancellery of Prime Minister Michał Dworczyk. Katarzyna Lubnauer from the Civic Coalition assessed in “Yes it is” on TVN24 that “this is a typical example of why the rule of law is not currently a feature that can be attributed to the Polish state in the PiS era”. Kamil Bortniczuk from the PiS club argued that there was no confirmation of the authenticity of these e-mails.

Lubnauer stated that “it is difficult to talk about the rule of law and independence of the judiciary if the Prime Minister decides about the appointment of an important post in the Supreme Court, even though only the president has the right to sign there.” – In addition, he does it on the basis of an almost social conversation with the president of the Constitutional Tribunal – she added.

– This is more or less a conversation when two politicians are discussing who would be better put on this job – assessed the deputy.

In her opinion, this is “a typical example of what Zbigniew Ziobro did all this fuss for” in terms of justice. – This is a typical example of why the rule of law is not currently a feature that can be attributed to the Polish state in the PiS-era – added Lubnauer.

Bortniczuk: There is no confirmation of the authenticity of these e-mails

Kamil Bortniczuk argued that “these e-mails do not prove anything, because e-mails that can simply be fabricated in the world cannot prove anything”. He added that “tomorrow you can show exactly the same e-mail”.

He also stated that “any name can be stuck in this type of email” to fabricate it.

“There is no confirmation of the authenticity of these e-mails, so there is no reason to talk about them,” he added.
