Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Michał Dworczyk, were to analyze the possible course of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II in Westerplatte – according to the content of another alleged correspondence that was leaked as part of the e-mail scandal. In the e-mail, the author of which may be the prime minister, we read: “Why did we make the law? So that they would blow us away now?”. The content also shows that the reaction to the speeches of the deputy head of the European Commission Frans Timmermans was considered and the speech of the President of Gdańsk Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, referred to in the content of the e-mails as “Dulczessa”, was commented on.

Another alleged e-mails leaked from Michał Dworczyk’s mailboxes, the head of the prime minister’s office. This correspondence was to be conducted at the turn of August and September 2019 between the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and the prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The author of one of the e-mails is also Tomasz Matynia from the Government Information Center.

The alleged correspondence concerns preparations for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II in Westerplatte. Among them there is a message from August 28, 2019, which was to be sent by Michał Dworczyk to, among others, Mateusz Morawiecki and Tomasz Matynia. “When it comes to Westerplatte, everything looks like it should be ok, except for the ‘little thing’ that Dulczessa informed me yesterday evening (Gdańsk president Aleksandra Dulkiewicz – ed.)”. Dworczyk was to convey that Frans Timmermans, the deputy head of the European Commission, will be among the guests and will also deliver a speech at the ceremony. “Supposedly, it is supposed to talk only about the war and gratitude to the Poles for the liberation of the Netherlands. Allegedly without reference to the current politics … What are we doing? Any suggestions?” Dworczyk was supposed to ask.

“I don’t think he has any influence on what he says. (The head of the European Commission, Ursula – ed.) Von der Leyen would have to come to hide him. There are also rumors about the presence of (EU commissioner, Elżbieta – ed.) Bieńkowska” – he said Tomasz Matynia from the Government Information Center.

The e-mail scandal. “Why did we make the law? That they would blow us up now?”

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki was also to join the alleged discussion. “Timmer is not supposed to speak. Merkel will not be on the W-platte. Dulkiewicz should also not speak. But Timmer – no way. Why did we make the act? So that they would blow our pits?” said the head of government.

In the summer of 2019 The Sejm adopted a special act, assuming the construction of a museum on the Westerplatte peninsula, which was to be a branch of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk. The new regulations provided for the expropriation of land owners, including the city of Gdańsk, from the areas where the defense of Westerplatte took place in September 1939. After the special act enters into force commemoration of the anniversary of the outbreak of World War II in Westerplatte it was organized not by the City of Gdańsk, but by the Polish Army.

In September 2021, Daniel Stenzel, spokesman for the president of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, announced that by the decision of the Supreme Administrative Court, part of the Westerplatte area is returned to the city. The decision is final.

After an alleged e-mail from the prime minister, Dworczyk was supposed to contact the president of Gdańsk. “I talked to her again, presenting the case as your personal request. After another conversation, listening to talks about Europe, etc., I still wonder if she is so cynical or just stupid,” the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister was supposed to write back to the prime minister.

“Michał’s friend, President Dulkiewicz, was drawn in several places in a nasty and provocative manner”

The next e-mails are to come from September 1, 2019. Prime Minister Morawiecki was to write after the celebration of the anniversary of the outbreak of World War II in Westerplatte that Timmermans had a “decent, and even very good for Poland” speech. Morawiecki was to add, however, that “Michał’s friend, President Dulkiewicz, was drawn in a few places in a provocative and unpleasant way …”.

The alleged correspondence also shows that the prime minister wrote that if “part of the hard PiS electorate will be hated because of the presence of Timmermans, it is worth imposing such a spin in the truth”. “We should bring people to help in the applause of ‘our’, because there was an absolute domination of the others. It’s a pity” – Morawiecki was to add.

The prime minister was also said to have addressed the alleged employees of the office in the attached messages. “Iza, Ania, write it down in your dangerous notebooks, notebooks, because in September there may be similar situations before the elections, and next year” – he was to write.

In the reply that Dworczyk was to send, we read: “First of all, I am asking for precision – Dulczessa is not my friend, but the best, cordial friend. Secondly – she kept her word – FT (Frans Timmermans – ed.) Gave a balanced speech, and We didn’t say anything about her speech … 🙂 “.

Timmermans at Westerplatte: we will fight for Poland to remain an important member of the EU– We will fight to ensure that Poland remains in its position as an important member of the European family – declared the deputy head of the European Commission Frans Timmermans at Westerplatte.tvn24, Gdansk.pl

“Well, fact” – Morawiecki was supposed to write back at the end.

On Tuesday afternoon, the tvn24.pl editorial team asked the Government Information Center to confirm the authenticity of the correspondence. By the time of publication, we did not receive an answer to the question asked.

The e-mail scandal

Both members of the government and Dworczyk himself refrain from answering questions that relate to the issues presented in the disclosed e-mails. The Government Information Center has repeatedly stressed that “Poland has experienced a cybernetic and disinformation attack carried out from the territory of the Russian Federation”, therefore “the Chancellery of the Prime Minister will not comment on the content of the materials.”

In July, at a press conference, Michał Dworczyk said: “When it comes to specific questions regarding materials published on the Russian Telegram platform (the place where alleged e-mails were disclosed – ed.), We consistently maintain that we will not refer to individual materials. just one of the targets of the attacker – to introduce word versus word discussion, to translate what is true, what is manipulated, which is completely false. Therefore, we will not refer to it. ”
