On Saturday, the Equality March passed through Wrocław for the thirteenth time. This year the event was held under the slogan “We want all life”.
The slogan of this year’s march refers to the demands of the LGBT + community, but not only. Participants demanded street safety or the end of “LGBT-free zones”. They also took the side of the refugees, demanding asylum. The march was held under the patronage of the President of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk, and the representative office of the European Commission in Poland.
On Saturday morning in Plac Wolności, the City of Equality was established, where participants of the march could supplement their knowledge on topics more or less related to the LGBT community. There you could also buy rainbow gadgets.

Before 3 p.m., a van with slogans targeting homosexuals tried to drive into the square. The participants of the march blocked its entry.
After 3 pm the march finally set off towards ul. Kazimierz Wielki, and then Szewska and Oławska in the direction of the Market Square. There, as reported by TVN24 reporter Tomasz Mildyn, “three frontages of the city center were occupied by people with rainbow flags”, which in fact means that the participants of the march took over almost the entire Market Square. From there, along Wita Stwosza Street and Dominikański Square, the march went towards Plac Społeczny, where the gathering ended.
According to preliminary estimates, several thousand people took part in the march. Hundreds of policemen kept order. – I can confidently say that I have not seen so many officers in Wrocław on the occasion of such an event – said Mildyn.
