“We welcome this announcement as a first step to address the current situation. However, we do not change our position that unilateral action is unacceptable. We continue to work with the Member States concerned as well as with the Ukrainian authorities. Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis will discuss this during his talks on April 19 with the Ukrainian authorities and five Member States, said the spokeswoman of the European Commission, Miriam Garcia Ferrer.

Commission spokeswoman Miriam Garcia Ferrer told PAP on Tuesday evening that European Commission welcomes the agreement between Poland and Ukraine on Ukrainian grain. – The main objective of the solidarity routes was to provide Ukraine with alternative routes for the export of agricultural products and other products, guaranteeing the functioning of the Ukrainian economy in the context of the blockade of the Black Sea ports. It is therefore important to ensure that there is indeed transit and that this cereal goes to the countries where it is most needed – she indicated, adding that these are developing countries that are still struggling with the situation of increased food prices due to instability caused by aggression Russia against Ukraine.
