The European Commission has submitted a proposal to partially suspend the visa facilitation agreement for officials of the Alyaksandr Lukashenka regime.
The European Commission has proposed the suspension of certain articles of the EU’s visa facilitation agreement with Belarus. This decision “is a consequence of the efforts of the Belarusian regime to destabilize the EU and its member states by facilitating illegal migration.”
The decision concerns certain categories of officials linked to the regime and will not affect ordinary Belarusian citizens who will continue to enjoy the same visa facilities under the agreement as today.
