The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, informed the plenary session in Strasbourg that the case of the request to waive the immunity of four PiS MEPs was referred to the legal committee of the European Parliament.

It is about a request from a court in Poland to waive the immunity of Law and Justice MEPs: Tomasz Poręba, Beata Mazurek, Patryk Jaki and Beata Kempa.

This is the result of the indictment filed by activist Rafał Gaweł – founder of the Monitoring Center for Racist and Xenophobic Behavior – for the spot PIS warning against the migration policy of the Civic Platform.

Gaweł accused PiS politicians of violating Article 256 of the Penal Code, which includes incitement to hatred. He accused both the creators and politicians sharing the election spot.
