It is hard to deny that Przemysław Płacheta has become a rather forgotten footballer in recent years. When he was bought from Śląsk Wrocław by Norwich for three million euros in 2020, and a little later made his debut in the Polish national team, one could have expected that we were growing a player who could cause a stir in Europe. However, it got worse year by year. He can basically forget about returning to the national team, and soon he may even have trouble finding a new employer.

The former Polish representative confused the disciplines. “He watched too much KSW or another UFC”

Recently, he was close to returning to Poland, but in the end, the 26-year-old signed a contract with Championship newcomer Oxford United. Although he missed a large part of the pre-season due to injury, he officially debuted in his new colours on 10th August in a match against… Norwich. Our player did quite well, playing 73 minutes, and his team won 2-0.

A week later, he faced Coventry. The match was extremely even, with both teams fiercely competing for victory. This time, however, our player performed below expectations, and after less than an hour he was replaced. However, a video material surfaced online that somehow ridicules Płacheta. He, trying to win a duel for the ball with his rival, wanted to… hit him. And this is not a fabrication at all – he simply clenched his fists and struck the Coventry player twice in the head.

“Why is he trying to knock down his opponent in front of the assistant referee?” – asked one of the fans on the X portal. However, the referee did not notice this, and the Pole ended the match without even a yellow card. “He watched a lot of KSW or another UFC” – said journalist Jan Mazurek. And it is hard to be surprised by such words, because in fact the second punch was similar to the so-called backfist. Once, Shamil Musayev knocked out Grzegorz Szulakowski with such a punch at the KSW 52 gala.

At this point, it is not known whether Placheta will face any consequences. There is no doubt, however, that he should be punished for such scandalous behavior. After two rounds, Oxford is ninth in the table with three points. Their next match is on Saturday, August 24, when they will face Blackburn away.
